DEGRASSI QUESTIONS
Degrassi is a series of Canadian television programs about the lives of teenage individuals who go to school in Toronto, Ontario (Canada). Degrassi is also the name of the school these kids attend. The first program began in 1981. The current series is Degrassi: The Next Generation, which has been around since 2001, and this is the show Boycott the Caf writes about.
So wait, they have television in Canada? Tell me more about Canada.
Yes, surprisingly they do. Canada has had electricity for almost thirty years now and TV for almost twenty. Canada was civilized in the early 1970's when New Jersey businessman, Leonardo Leonardo, led an expedition into this uncharted land and made a fortune selling the local Indian the polio virus. This was well documented in the first episode of Clerks: the Animated Series, which I consider historically accurate.

Fuck you, The-N.
In Canada, you can see Degrassi over the air on the CTV network. In the United States, you can catch the show on the cable channel The-N. If you live in another country, I don't know where to find Degrassi. Try CNN, it will probably be there.
Is it true there is an episode that was never shown in the United States? Can you please send it to me over email?
Yes. "Accidents Will Happen" is a two parter from the third season that The-N has refused to broadcast, because it involves Manny getting an abortion. The-N finally buckled down and aired the episode in 2006, and this was due entirely to our lobbying.
No, we will not send you this episode over email, quick asking us to. If people continue sending us poorly written emails requesting it, we're just going to send hard core porn disguised as the episode. You can find "Accidents Will Happen" if you look hard enough. Like right here and over here.
BOYCOTT THE CAF QUESTIONS
What is the purpose of Boycott the Caf?
We are the #1 site on the web devoted to Degrassi. Our purpose is to teach the world about Degrassi: The Next Generation, the greatest show in all the world. As the greatest Degrassi fan site ever, we have filled the site with information about the characters and episodes, along with our own spin on the Degrassi world.
Where does your name come from?
The name of our site comes from the first great Next Generation episode "Rumours and Reputations" in which the first great Degrassi character SPINNER MASON yells out "Boycott the Caf!" because it was infested with earwigs.

We live in the green area.
Boycott the Caf is brought to you by Billy Green (administration, episodes reviews, and this FAQ), and Johnny Dangerous (character bios and miscellaneous fun). You can also catch us on our main site Dumb Baby. We are both Americans from the state of Michigan and in our early twenties, so 13 year olds should stop sending emails to proclaim your love for us, because that ain't going to happen. Not in our state at least.
We get our ideas for this site from watching Degrassi over and over again. Scary enough, we belong to a small group of people our age who actually like to get together to watch Degrassi and make fun of it. Most of the content of this site was inspired from those viewing sessions. This makes us wonder how much of the Degrassi audience are its target teen demographic, and how much of it is just people are age who like to make fun of it, or at least watch it under the influence.
You guys spend all you time making fun of Degrassi. Are you really fans?
Yes, despite our mocking tone, we here at Boycott the Caf are genuine fans of Degrassi. We love Degrassi in the way that mortal men love a woman. The thing is, for every awesome part of Degrassi, (like when Spinner brought that watermelon to Ashley's party) there are equally lame parts (like any scene with Liberty), and those lame parts take time that could have been spent on awesome parts. So anything that is not pleasing to us is treated with extreme anger and hatred, because it is time we did not spend watching Spinner either get erections or kick Toby's ass.
Yes, it is a very cool show. Despite how critical we get, we would still prefer to watch a sub-par episode of Degrassi than any episode of something like Friends or King of Queens. We like Degrassi.
How does your rating/grading system work?
The rating and grading for episodes and characters are based on the system for grading school work in the United States (A+ to F) and other countries that follow this model. If you are from a country that does something different than America (and therefore does it in a stupid way), you might not understand out system. Here is how it breaks down:
| Grade | Episode | Character |
| A | A perfect episode, the best the writers have pumped out. The cream of the crop. Always a blast to watch. Probably has Spinner doing something awesome. | This kid is as cool as it gets. A character that makes you want to watch the show. Cool, suave and steals candy. 100% Intense. |
| B | An alright episode. It is very entertaining, but there are some things I have a problem with, such as an adult centered B plot, or too much Ellie. Good, but not the best Canada could do. | An almost 100% intense character, but has his or her faults that make you angry sometimes. Probably still cooler than you. |
| C | Average. Not a horrible episode but not a very good one. It has its moments but also its faults. I might change the channel depending if Boy Meets World is on. | You could take or leave this character. More often than not you will not like this person, but every so often he or she may just do something interesting. |
| D | Not cool, man. Not cool. Little effort was put into making this episode not suck. | This person just plain bothers me and I wish this person was never part of the show, though that one time Paige got her drunk was alright. |
| F | The worst Degrassi gets. This is what happens when the producers get high off too much maple syrup and back bacon. | This person gets on my nerves every second her ugly black face and denim suspenders are on screen. Just fucking die. |
I found an error on your site. Your character bios are wrong and half the stuff in your episode reviews didn't happen. Liberty and Coach Armstrong didn't have sex, that was just a rumor. And Jimmy is not from the future. You need to correct your facts, or I will sue.
No, every statement we print on Boycott the Caf is 100% correct. It is you who are wrong.
OMG! I love your show! You guys are the best! Write me back Paige!
We get these emails more than any other, even more than the emails telling us we suck. Look, Boycott the Caf does not make the Degrassi show. We are in no no way affilated with the program, have absolutely nothing to do with it. We cannot get you in touch with the stars, we have never met them. Canada makes the show, not us. Please contact Canada instead.
I hate you guys! You are mean! How can say Liberty should die? She is a good person.
Calm down, sonny. This is a humor site, we're just making fun. But Liberty should die. What a stupid bitch.
Who is your favorite character? Which character do you want to see be killed by wolverines on screen? Which is your favorite episode? Which is your least favorite?
If you need to know one thing about Boycott the Caf it is that we love ourselves some SPINNER. Liberty needs to be eaten by wolverines, preferably while Spinner kicks dog poo in her face.
Our favorite episode is up for debate, but any episode we give an A+ rating and stars Spinner will be up for contention. "Weird Science" or "Rumours and Reputations" might be our episode of choice. Our least favorite is "Holiday", but that fucking Breakfast Club episode is close behind.
When are you going to write about the original Degrassi series?
Never, most likely. We have never actually seen the original series, though Billy Green may
purchase it on DVD if he were to give a shit. We
really don't care at all about the original show, and are only focused on the
Next Generation. If the original
series doesn't have Spinner, who the hell cares?
Correction: Thanks to The-N, we've recently gotten a chance to view episodes of original Degrassi. Man is that show ever sweet; it's just so horribly low budget and ridiculously 80s, a winning combo. We may write about that series at some point if we get around to it. Only time will tell.
Can I write something for your site?
No.
INTERNET QUESTIONS
Where can I find out more about Degrassi?
You can reach the official Degrassi website at www.degrass.tv. The-N also has an extensive, overly Flashed out website at this link.
How can I watch Degrassi episodes over the internet? I'm an idiot who hasn't read the instructions you've posted numerous times.Ok, you can find every Degrassi episode on Soulseek. You can check out the website DegrassiTHGHO, which is maintained by the people who put the episodes online. The Degrassi Myspace page also have a large links of links to download stuff.
Are any of the actors on MySpace?
There are a few well known ones that we have placed in the Links section. Other than that, I don't know. I have been told that Cassie Steele (Manny), Miriam McDonald (Emma), Sheaneane Grimes (Darcy) and a few others all have super secret profiles where they don't mention that they are on the show. You'll have to bug somebody else to find these out. Unless there are topless photos on those profiles, I don't care to look around for them.
You should also keep in mind that there are a lot of kids on MySpace with fake profiles pretending to be an actor from the show. Some people out there don't have anything better to do that make elaborate sites on the internet devoted to a low budget kids show. Losers.
Want to join my Degrassi online role playing game?
No. I tried Degrassi role playing twice but I made the other players upset because I always played as Dean.
What is the deal with Degrassi-Boards.com. Why are they so lame?
I don't know how Degrassi-Boards can possibly suck so much, I only know that they do. We've tried joining their board because we like to discuss Degrassi and getting private messages from 14 year old girls. But every time we do, we quickly get banned. Pussies at that site can't handle how 100% intense we are. Also, we were accused of flooding that board with pornographic photos a few times, but we swear that was not us. ;)
GAY DEGRASSI QUESTIONS
I don't know. Um...Sure. Let's just say he is to be on the safe side.
Why was Spinner's hair so gay in the fourth season?
I wish I knew. Spinner's hair become gayer as the season went on. If I could have met Shane Kippel in person during season 4, I would have said, "Hey loser, nice girl's haircut."
And Shane would look down at the ground and say, "Hey come on man, I don't like this either, the producers made me cut it this way."
And then I would say, "Yeah, whatever, Marco."
And then the kid who played Marco would pop up and ask, "What did you say?"
And I would say, "Shut up and shave under your lip."
